Maple 2026 Questions and Posts

These are Posts and Questions associated with the product, Maple 2026

Hello,

I already ask these questions but can't find the answers :

1) about Maple floats (i.e the equivalent command

for $MaxNumber,$MinNumber, etc)

2) how to get the list of all Packages with their commands

3) the list of all commands of Maple

(for example 'transpose' appears in ...12 packages, but I only know in mathematics only one

'transpose' , i.e the transpose of a matrix)

Thank you very much and all the best,

Jean-Michel

Does Maple natively work while using a VPN? If not, where do I go to learn how to configure it so it will work using a VPN? In Maple 2025 and Maple 2026, Maple will soft-lock when when attempting to execute any worksheet or attempting to read any help section when using a VPN under the default configuration configuration of Maple.

I tried to copy a snippet of a maple command from a worksheet and paste it elsewhere in the worksheet and it was transformed into document form. I could not figure out how to fix that.It was worthless to me. For example, in the command I had "eval(f, [y=1,d=3])" and it became f| with the subscript y=1,d=3.

Also, I wrote "parametr" in a procedure and Maple rejected the command with a vague complaint. OK, my bad; garbage in garbage out, parameter not parametr, etc. BUT this is 2026! Autocorrect features have been around for years. Underlining of strange spellings are standard on word processors, phones , etc. Can't Maple catch up?

Is Maple 2026 compatible with Mac OS27.1 ___________________________________________________________

In the attached file, I would like to create a table of values (k,f(k),g(k)) for the functions f and g for, e.g., k=1..10. I would appreciate your help with this, as f and g refer to reciprocity in their expressions.

I want to do some timing tests on a bunch of procedures in a module, some of which call others, so I do not get the true timing I want - see attached.

I am attaching two worksheets.  The first worksheet titled testflaw shows the original state of a module. The module in the startup code area contained two exported variables which were never implemented. The module had been used in testing the code.  The second worksheet testflaw2 shows the result after deleting the exported variables. (AsTable and TestAssociativity).  Note that when the worksheet opens a typesetting error code occurs.  It appears that the typesetting routines retain knowledge of the exported variables even after a Restart command.

I would like to have a list of sets and parallelize the same operation performed on each list. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks in advance.

Asking the small model (without including a worksheet)

what does x || (a, b, c) := y =~ x ^~ (1, 2, 3)

throws this error

Is that error message reproducible on other installations? Should be.
Warning: The same question to the large model ate up 100000 credits. I added two more questions about operator precedence:

Reminds me of playing pinball when I was young. Either it tilts or you run out of money pretty quickly ;-)

Joking asside, any suggestions to improve my prompting to make the small model produce a correct answer?

The former Maple UI displayed shortcut-keys in the menu entries. There was no need to consult the help system and good overview of possible menu control alternatives was provided.

In the new ribbon interface, such hints are not given anymore (if I am not mistaken).

Suggestion:
The information of shortcut keys could be added after the mouse-over text. For example Crtl+O after "Open a file"

For me, attaching the shortcut-key to the corresponding menu item is the most intuitive way to look up this information. Adding text is probably less invasive then graphical design changes, hence this pragmatic suggestion.

Alternatively, AI could provide the information but simple prompts (like "shortcut to open a file in Maple" or "list all keyboard shortcuts for Maple under Windows") did not work for me. A waist of time, credits and energy for nothing. Somehow it is difficult for to todays AIs to identify that there is a help page (not easy to find for beginners and me in Maples help system, IMO) that contains all information needed:
?worksheet,reference,hotwin

On my installations I can neither convert nor copy/paste code with comments from 2D-Math to 1D without loosing the comments.
Also pasting to Word removes the comments.

Is that a known behaviour? Any workarounds?

In the same sheet (Engineering Notation)

you can have:

and

and even correct formating ...

but there is no possibility to correct anything, it just ignores the settings ... unfortunately, I am pushed to use an older version ...

Hope this will change.

How to revert ("unapply") a function composition application?
Example:

`@`(ln, sinh)

`@`(ln, sinh)

(1)

apply(`@`(ln, sinh), x)

ln(sinh(x))

(2)

Unapply does not do the opposite of what apply does

unapply(ln(sinh(x)), x)

proc (x) options operator, arrow; ln(sinh(x)) end proc

(3)

What I am instered in: revert/undo the apply operation leading to(2) and returning the corresponding function composition of (1).

Maybe there is a convert function that I have overlooked.NULL

Dear MapleSoft Team,

I am writing to share some feedback regarding a new feature introduced in Maple 2025. Specifically, when typing ^, /, or __ followed by a number or symbol and then entering another operator (such as +), the operator is automatically inserted on the baseline.

While I understand this "smart baseline behavior" may be useful for some users, I personally find it disruptive and counterproductive. It often interferes with my workflow rather than improving it.

May I suggest adding an option that allows users to choose whether to enable or disable this feature? Providing such flexibility would accommodate both those who appreciate the behavior and those who prefer the previous input style.

Thank you for considering this feedback. I hope this suggestion can help improve the user experience for a wider range of Maple users.

I need to add a library path name to get an old style package .lib to run. Currently a have to manually add the path. How do I solve this?
Also should the package be convverted to .mla type?  What is the difference?

Edit;- I am using windows 10
