Hi, this is probably very simple but I can't seem to get Maple to show me the Matrix that I want. Could you please let me know what is the problem?

N₀:=s->1-s;

N₁:=s->s;

N:=s->[N₀(s) N₁(s)];

Both `$`N(s) and N(s) shows me the statement "error, in N[0] too many levels of recursion"

Then I change to N_j:=s->[N₀(s) N₁(s)];

The solution comes out to be [N

I've got the following Maple math code (its called the 'Strickler function', giving a relation between water hight 'y' in a channel and other paramaters), that works like a charm and correctly outputs my function Q =

However, all contants in the functions are know, except for 'y' (Q is known as well). How do I solve the last equation for...

I wondered if it's possible in maple to hundle functions, for exemple to know if a function is a sum or a product of two functions.

Is there a function like this : sum (\x -> x+3)  -------->  [(\x -> x), \x -> 3] ?

If I ask this, is because I want to know if it's possible de rewrite the function `deriv` or `integrate` or `simplify` by hands, without using the native functions.

My do-loop did not work. What I would like to do is to solve the ODE then have new inc and solve it again.

I should have U(405) then U(770) ....

I'm handling with Non-linear PDEs in my work and I would like to solve them by these methods.

I have purchased Maple 15 Student Edition 2 months ago. My problem is that when I click the button under the text "To obtain a complete annotated solution, click:" Maple crashes. This happens in the browse tasks window accessed through Tools>Tasks>Browse. In addition to this issue, the interactive commands does not seem to work. How can resolve these issues? I am running a 64-bit version of Maple 15 under Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Any help is appreciated.

I have a rational transfer function, like

Y(s)/X(s)=G(s)=(s^2+s+1)/(s^3-3*s^2+5)

With the DynamicSystems package, Maple can compute a state space representation, but I want a single DEQ in y(t) of 3rd order. What is the best way to let Maple compute this?
