Hi,

I have a simulation file consisting of a number of modelica custom componets and maple custom components. I initially generated Random Data with mean 1 and standard deviation 0.5. Constructed all the blocks and combined with a multibody system, it worked fine. However, when I generated Random data with zero mean, then I have this error/problem "Simulation Problem: maximum number of event iterations reached (100) at 1.85000".

I used a couple of pre() function with clock=sample(0,0.01...

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the Brownian Motion (I'm using Maple 15).

Here is the code:

X:=BrownianMotion(0,0,1,t);

X1:=SamplePath(X(t),t=0..T,timesteps =T/d):

Mean(X1);

The last line give me a number different from zero, which is not true for a Brownian Motion as defined.

Could you please tell me where is the problem?

PS: I have the same problem with WienerProcess(sigma).

Hi,

My question is fairly straight-forward, I hope someone has an equally straight-forward solution. I would like to be able to illustrate the convergence of the distribution on the mean of i.i.d random variables to the normal distribution. For example, I'd like to visualize (by way of a histogram plot) that as n increases arbitrarily, the mean of n i.i.d. exponential random variables with mean 10 converges to a normal distribution.

Thanks!

Hey, I've been trying to calculate the mean from a set of measurements I took in an experiment. The measurements are (76.0,75.9,76.1,75.9,76.0,76.1,76.1,76.0,75.9,76.0,76.0,75.9,75.9,75.9,76.0,75.8,76.0,76.0,75.9,75.9,75.9,75.9,75.9,75.9,75.9,76.0,75.9,76.0,76.0,76.0), and I always do

y1:=(all of the measurements I just listed);

then I try to do the mean of y1

Mean(y1);

but everytime I try this an error comes up.

Error, (in Statistics:-Mean...

  We have two random points A(X1,Y1,Z1) and B(X2,Y2,Z2) in the unit cube, ie X1, X2, Y1, Y2, Z1, and Z2 are collectively independent random variables uniformly distributed on the interval [0,1].
  How to find  the mean of the distance between A and B with Maple? The same question in higher dimensions.
