Hi everybody, I have a rather large code in Maple for my research which needs fast eigensolving for large sparse matrices, thus, I am using the Matlab link to parse my matrices and get them eigensolved in Matlab. The problem is that, I am unable to directly parse a Maple sparse matrix to a Matlab sparse matrix which substantially slows down the calculation.

This is the best I can do so far:

> H:=Matrix(5000,5000,shape=symmetric,storage=sparse,datatype=float[8]):

Good afternoon

i have problem with that program, because it's too slowly, i can't plot and i I have difficulty in keeping the processed data vector.

this program in matlab 12 seconds delay.

Thank you for your help

Has anyone noticed Maple 15 is sometimes very slow to launch in OS X 10.7 ?

In the following worksheet I want the plot, but Maple can't generate it . I tried two ways-the first one took almost 40 minutes and gave an empty plot, the second one took almost 10 minutes and generate an incomplete plot.Also the integration is very slow,but still,it can do it.

So,can anybody help me with a better way to do things-using other numerical schemes/advanced plotting options-whatever it takes?    Or at least explain what is going on?

Good morning.

I have a problem.

My Foco1 function is slower than Foco and how can i do it faster?, because that takes a long time.

Mapleprimes has really painfully slowed down in the last day.  What's happened?

After I post this message mapleprimes will refresh and refresh a few times (not that it hasn't done that before) but now that it's slower again, it's quite frustrating, I can't post even check primes for at least 15 minutes after a post.  Back to the old days of primes 2 I guess.  I can't tell if mapleprimes making progress but it seems like were going backwards just as much as we go forwards.

I'm trying to plot some expressions the contain infinite summations.  On some of them it is working, but is really slow, and on others Maple keeps thinking and consuming more memory until it reaches just under 2 gb, by which time it is pretty much hung.

Is there a way make Maple not work so hard in evaluating the summations?

Hey all,
 I have created a nested while loop to investigate the Riemann zeta function:

for q to 10 do
 m := 10^(-q);
  for s from 2 to 10 do
   n := 1;
   b := 1;
    while b >= m do
     b := evalf(abs(Zeta(s)-euclid(s, n)));
     n := n+1
    end do;
  print(m, s, n-1)
 end do
end do

it...

You would have thought I'd have learnt to make sure I've saved my work by now.

I've spent the last 4 hours or so working on a worksheet on Maple, without saving it once (I know, I know). It started acting slow-- by which I mean it was talking a while to actually type things, as opposed to running calculations-- and then the screen suddenly went grey, froze, and now my cursor turns into an hourglass when I mouseover the window.

It's been this way for the past 10 minutes.

I find it very odd that this forum which is not very graphic intensive runs so slowly.  It runs like there's animated ads running in the background slowing things down, but this is a text forum with the odd graphic in the threads but hardly anything else.  I can't see why it can't work so much faster.

Why must one have high speed and the latest browser for this site to work marginally well?  Load times for the home page should load almost instantly, on...

When typing in mapleprimes there is a delay when you type.  I am on dial-up so if you highspeed users think it's slow, it is.  Fixing this problem will help speed up high speed users too.

William fixed this issue a while ago but this problem has come back about a week ago or more.

Hello!

Suddenly when starting Maple 13 on my PC (Windows 7 x64, 4GB Ram, Phenom 965 with 4x 3,4GHZ, HD5770) I noticed that it really takes ages to execute the entire worksheet (3 exclamation marks). I opened the Task Manager and became aware of the problem: Maple 13 obviously does NOT use any CPU ressources. The "maple.exe *32" uses ~1-4% of one CPU core and only 45.000KB of RAM. Its not really changing...

I have tried MaplePrimes at various times of the day, and every time I have tried it, it has been bordering on unusably slow.  I have an extremely fast connection, and other like sites are snappy.  So why not primes?  This slowness might drive me away again.

It seems if I have already looked at a mapleprimes question, and I reload it again when it has been updated, mapleprimes does not load the latest information but instead loads what I have previously looked at. In order to view the updated page, I have to load the page and then refresh it. I don't think it's too much to ask to fix this. If I check the recent tab it will only show when I checked it last (ie. if it was last night and I load it now, I'll see last nights...
