Hello

I have Problem with the Maple command plotsetup, it does not seem to work within an if-statement.

What i would like to do is this:

1. Make a matrix with 0 or 1 as enteries

2. convert this matrix into a list where the 1's are points. (So the Matrix entery Matrix[1][1]:=1 would give the listvector:=[1,1]

3. plot these vectors as graphs and store them with the help of plotsetup

4. changing the matrix and rinse and repet 2,3,4 until satisfied

Hello,

I am having trouble in defining multivariable functions. For instance, when I define the follow code:

assume(n>0)

 f:=(x_1,x_2,...,x_n) -> sum(x[i],i=1..n)

I get the error: Error, invalid operator parameter name.

How can I define this type of function when the number of variables is conditional on "n" ?

I want to solve a series of differential equations, and then plot the results, but I'm having a bit of trouble with evaluating them using dsolve. My code is:

-----------------------------------

restart;

c:=1;
mu:=0.3;
m1:=1-mu;
m2:=mu;
x1:=mu;
x2:=mu-1;
omega1:=1/2(mu(1-mu)-3);
omega:=1+omega1/c^2;
r1:=sqrt((x(t)-x1)^2+y(t)^2);
r2:=sqrt((x(t)-x2)^2+y(t)^2);
A:=diff(y(t),t)*x(t)-diff(x(t),t)*y(t);
rsquared:=x(t)^2+y(t)^2;

Hi, im having some trouble with Math182_Lab_4_2007W.pdf with question 7, its giving me hints on how to set up my X and Y from the old points of x1 and y1, but my instructor forgot to teach us using the map command and im having trouble on what to do next.

i'll include my worksheet, MAT_182_-_Lab_#_4.mw

Having trouble with a double summation function that calls itself recursively.

S2 := (p, k, n)-> piecewise(0 <= n and n < k, 1, n < 0, 0, sum(sum(p^y*(1-p)^(m-y)*S2(p, k, n-m), m = y+1 .. y+k-1), y = 1 .. n-k+1));

When evaluated with S2(p,2,-1) and S2(p,2,1) it works correctly (first two conditions are working)

However, when I try evaluate S2(p,2,2) Maple appears to run unbounded(?) and chokes. In fact, doing...

I use Maple in high school. My students deliver their homework created in Maple. Often this involves solving a number of exercises, say 7. Not all students are completely aware of how the Maple Engine works, so I tell them to put in restarts from time to time, at least when a new exercise begins. This prevents misunderstandings and loss of time which might else happen when calculations in one exercise interferes with calculations in the next exercise. One simple example...

Hello,

I want to evaluate an integral over the Dirac function with basically the following assignments. (I had some troubles parsing here...) Then I want to plot function rho(epsilon). What I get is just an empty graph with nothing displayed although test has only values in the range -3...3. I am pretty new to maple and don't know how to compute this in another way.

> test(x,y,z) := .2686733768*x^2+.2686733768*z^2-.2178281566+.2686733768*y^2+(-1)*1.000000000*sqrt...

Recently (last few months) I created a post. Then during migration images were lost. It was the post about converting 2d to 3d discs. So I updated the post by adding the images. Copied it to a word file and saved it on a USB for personal reference. Now I can't find it on my USB and I'm having trouble locating it here. Now I went searching for it under my name (my contributions) and could not find it anywhere. In fact I've found some posts of mine that should be there...
