In the Maple 2025 release, the "old/former" user interface was provided under a menu entry called "Maple 2025 for Screen Readers". I used this version because of shortcommings of the new ribbon interface. Some of the shortcommings have been fixed in the 2026 release but it is still slow to use (I am missing functions in the quick access toolbar that I frequently use and no customization of the bar seems possible).

I could not find a similar menu entry in the 2026 release under Windows 11. Is the old unser interface still available?

Example: For

ex:=(a+b*c)^2

I would like to get the following output

[`^`, [`+`, [`*`, b, c], a], 2]

I am mainly looking for "elegant" code (short but understandable).

If a one-liner is doable, which I doubt, I would be interested as well.

Instead of

if not(type(expr,atomic))...

I would like to use something like that for better readabilty

if type(expr,composite)...

where "composite" is a placeholder for beeing not atomic.

Just for my understanding:

I have read ?procedure and noticed that the term variable is used as a synonym for the term name.

Otherwise Maple uses the term variable more in a mathematical sense and the term name to refer to an expression.

Is this to make the help page easier to read or to use jargon familiar from other programming languages?

This use of vocabulary must be intentional. However I do not fully understand this subtle difference.

I am looking for ways to clear remember tables in a Maple session to ensure that a Maple command/procedure is executed as if it were being called for the first time. I currently use

map(forget, [anames()])

but I am not sure if that statement clears all existing remeber tables (i.e. including system remember tables)?

Are there other ways to do this? Restart is not an option since it clears almost everything.

Edit: This question is not about disabling remember tables.
