MaplePrimes Activity

These are replies submitted by Christopher2222

I'm surprised someone didn't think of doing something like that in Maple first! ... So the challenge begins.

The Gumbel distribution is available in Maple 12 as well.  I wonder if we could make use of the animation fly through here from Maple 13?

That's a lot of info loss.  I also experienced some information loss when comparing to some of my backups.  William had said there's nothing he can do about the loss, the information (for my case) is unrecoverable.  Hopefully it might be different for any of these other cases.  Perhaps he can share a few words with us on this issue?

I missed reading this old thread, great idea about the patch library or back portability.

@Will Thanks Will.  The reason I posted in the answer section is so that it would bubble up to the top of the most recent post forum showing the latest action as being most recent.

Had I posted a comment, in the reply column it would only show 1 reply and it wouldn't show any latest activity and the only way to see if there were any extra comments in the post, one would only know by actually opening that question.  So if you were scanning the questions to see if any extra info were there you couldn't tell.

Might I add a suggestion?  Keep the number of answer column the same but add a reply column.  So you can see at a glance what's happening with that question.  For example, one question may only have 3 answers but it may also have 14 replies.  Unbeknownst to anyone scanning the forum one would think there is only 3 replies when in fact 14 replies have been given, where 3 of which are actually answers.

That works great.  And my problem is that I have 493 datapoints.

The flat list of topics makes things unorganized and difficult to find or follow.  I question if there is any real order on this new primes site.  It's akin to spreading all your notes from a course out on your floor with no real order and then expect to easily find a topic.  Helter skelter is probably a good word for it.

It was so easy to find a thread before.  Will, I know you mentioned that some information was buried 6 or 7 levels deep and sometimes obscured and difficult to find.  However at least it was filed under some subtopic.

Can't help you too much if you don't post what code gave you the problems.

I'll start with the easy one .. Unable to match delimeters - You don't have enough brackets or your brackets are mismatching.

I like to add new objects, heh heh.  No, I just wanted to know why I couldn't get map to work with indicies in my loop.

Thanks for the inputs.

Can map work with such indicies?  (I see comments are not updating posts yet)

For some reason I was thinking b[i] might wipe out the position of b[i].

Okay, so if I change my name structure so it's

a[1]:= [[ ...

a[2]:=[[ ...

a[3]:=[[ ...

and use b[i] it still doesn't work like I thought it would.

It appears map doesn't like variable b[i][4] and b[i][6]

... In my hurry I just realized I meant a list of lists, that's why I need map.  I didn't have Maple in front of me so please excuse my mistake.  Let me try that again and elaborate on my example

a1:=[[1,2,3,4,5,6,7],[9,8,7,6,5,4,3],[4,5,4,5,4,5,4]]

a2:=[[2,3,4,5,6,7,8],[8,7,6,5,4,3,2],[3,4,3,4,3,4,3]]

a3:=[[3,4,5,6,7,8,9],[7,6,5,4,3,2,1],[2,3,2,3,2,3,2]]

So that's why the need for map.  Any ideas

I usually just open the post select and highlight the whole comments of the post -- then crtl-c (copy) open microsoft word and crtl-v (paste) into the document then save it. Graphics and everything are there. Just have to clean it up a little bit. The same operation on the old site worked slower for me but I do enjoy the faster saving to word to archive the posts however with the old primes you didn't need to clean up the pasted work.
