MaplePrimes Activity

Okay, thanks for the explanation.

Okay, thanks for the explanation.

In other words, I want Maple to animate or show a smooth transition of a line x^2 to another line x^3.  Or for the other complex example I mentioned above.

As a more complex example, how about x^2 to sin(x) ?

Okay somewhat works but I want the negative axies to show it morphing downward.

Here is another link for missing images http://www.mapleprimes.com/questions/87786-Smoothing-Data-Points-

And another http://www.mapleprimes.com/questions/37587-2d-Contourplot-From-Pointplot3d also the links are dead for file.

I found another broken link as well pulled up by the mapleprimes search engine when searching for histograms.

There's still lots of old posts clogging up the new ones. I hope it's fixed very soon. I don't particularly want to read, or accidentally reply to an old post (like I already have) again unless I'm looking for a particular topic. It's rather a nuissance. And it looks like entered spaces are all congested into one long sentence, let's see after I post this, this purposely long sentence has 2 space enters for reference purposes only.
A small digression ... It is ironic you should mention using atmospheric noise being used as a random number generator. Just on the weekend I was thinking about the random pattern of raindrops as they left their mark on a cement sidewalk. Although would it really be random if it was at the side of the building and the wind was blowing? The rain would fall into a specific pattern and land into some normal distribution pattern. You could also surmize something similar with electronic noise and the effect of outside influences. Random is strange, hah, kind of fits nicely with Quantum Physics. It begs the question of how much order is there in randomness. Just as you shake a bolt around in a jar it is in some chaotic position. Add a nut and at some point there is the likelyhood however unlikely that the chaotic jumbling of parts will form some kind of order and the nut will have somehow attached itself to the threads, however improbable that may be. Increase the number of parts and it becomes infinitely impossible that they would all form some sort of order. Like, for example, all the parts of a Rolls Royce, how long would you have to jumble them around before you have yourself a nice Rolls Royce? Impossible? or highly unlikely? .... Wooops, I just noticed this is an old post. In any case I had a nice little digression.

It doesn't work with Maple 12.01, not sure about 12.02 but probably not.

Seems as though it was a little glitch that has already been fixed.  As fast as the problem appeared it is gone now.

Must be some changes happening at the mapleprimes as we speak.  I just noticed the recent categories did not have the tab options, and just moments ago they have re-appeared.

No, I don't believe it has been fixed yet.

I did suggest a good free 3rd party alternative "hotkeybind" in this post found here http://www.mapleprimes.com/questions/36941-No-TABkey.  Although I'm not sure if it's still available.

Since maple would not adapt to it's users requests, users had to adapt to Maple.  I think people that didn't adapt to Maple I'm sure got fed up with them and chose other software or downgraded as you did.

...(from below moved up I thought this would be an important point)  There should be a region of text for the down vote entered before a down vote can go through so that people can see why those down votes are there.  Bad coding, memory intensive ... etc ... but it must be selected from a predefined list of words before the down vote can be registered so that not just any text be entered.  This way other people can see why the down votes are there ...(moving back down to original spot)

There is a lot of discrepancy in how down votes should be used.  Will says they are there for ... such and such... however someone new and or old may not have read those rules.  In which case they will be used for the obvious.  Cases such as not liking the code someone wrote.

In fact I just saw a post that had 3 down votes!  Why?  I don't know because all the person did was present a different method he found.  A perfectly good anwer, Cool!  The down votes just didn't fit,  I enjoy to find different ways of doing the same thing as it gives me more options to play around with.  As for the reason for the down votes, we'll never know.  There should be a seperate reason ... (stuff moved to first paragraph) ...

I can't see the advantage a math forum would have with up and down votes without explanation, it just doesn't seem to add value without it.

Hmm, it seems all the book pages are missing.  I made a suggestion that the category be kept, and if I remember correctly was told nothing would be lost.

Famous last words, there have been a few cases of missing images.  But they do have a backup of the old mapleprimes as I was told ... so they should just be able to pluck out the posts and put them in a category.  Maple 401 etc... I did have a link to a pdf file for maple which I uploaded and haven't had any luck finding yet.

Yes there are missing posts.  Weren't we assured there would be no content loss?

Anyone else actually experience this?  And does it still exist in newer versions?

I am using Internet explorer 6.  Doesn't it work the same on all?
