MaplePrimes Questions and Posts

These are Posts and Questions associated with the product, MaplePrimes

I noticed tags on the post

https://mapleprimes.com/questions/238161-Why-Maple-Gives-Solution-To-Euler-Ode

keep disappearing.

I added tags "differential equation" and "dsolve" and so on.

Later on when I visit this site again I found the tags are all gone.

Why does Mapleprimes remove the tags on post?

Or is someone else removing the tags? If so, why? is something wrong with the tags I've added?

This happend twice on this one post. I noticed earlier today the tags were gone, so I added them again. And now I see the same thing. They are all gone.

I have noticed over a few questions I have asked recently.
I ask a question.                   It goes to top of active converstaions
Some  one answers                                            "

I Reply                                                                *

A bit of time passes  so slides  of the top six/seven that show

Another Reply/Answer from someone                possibly does not show in active conversations.  I catch this by the orange flag or email notification

I reply                                 Does not appear in active conversations..

       This can kill the conversation chain.

I have even tried changing one of me replys to an answer but did not go to top active conversations again.

Has anyone else expperienced this?

I asked a question a while ago

https://www.mapleprimes.com/questions/235734-How-Can-The-Functional-Derivativevariation

Which did not get any immediate responses but one late one which i had replied to, but nothing else since then.

Is it appropriate to delete and repost and try to get more responses/exposure and see if anyone else has any ideas?

Since @ecterrab is the one who responded I consider this an interesting problem that I would like to continue discussing.

For the past days I observe that reply to posts stucks at the progess bar

(using a firefox browser). I am wondering whether that is only on my installation. Loading pages is not slow as reported here. I have a suspicion that this happens after having previewed a reply before submission. I observe also sometimes a yellow background of the preview and sometimes a blue background.

I try to submit now with blue backgound

Has anyone else noticed that Mapleprimes response/loading/refreshing time has become relatively much slower in the past few weeks?

I was about to update an older discussion with the information that the context pannel now contains an entry "Normalized Expanded".

I only remember that I was participating with another user.

So, I tried C_R AND other_user in the search field. This gives an error.

A space as an implict AND operator does also not work.

I just got an email saying a maple primes moderator deleted my question as 'SPAM'. It was not remotely SPAM but a strraight forward question about how to determine lengths of lines drawn in Maple Sketcher.

The email tells me and gives me a link to 'contact' but it's not clear which of the many possible contacts listed to use!

Here's the email:

Your MaplePrimes post Length of a line drawn in Sketcher? was deleted by a moderator for the following reason: Spam. If you believe this was done in error, please contact Maplesoft customer service: https://www.maplesoft.com/contact.

I was trying to fill a Submit Software Change Request form a couple of times (with an interval of a couple of days) to report a small issue in Maple2023, which happens when I try to open an empty mpl-file. However, each time I received an error message. It looks like it is just broken.

Does anyone know if there is any reliable mechanism to provide feedback on MapleSoft products?

When the original poster receives or finds the answer to the question he/she posed, should he/she

  1. Reply to it
  2. Answer to it?

I have seen "true answers" that were converted to a reply, despite addressing the initial answer correctly. In case there are no other answers, the question will still be listed under unanswered question which is incorrect.

What practice should be applied in MaplePrimes for "true answers"?

For several hours I experience difficulties to upload a mw file (file LaneEmdenNumeric.mw to answer this question).

Given the error message I get

I thought it was a general technical problem.

But then I realized that this file ColumnSorting_4.mw , for instance, could be uploaded.

Nevertheless, as soon as I try to upload LaneEmdenNumeric.mw I get the error displayed above and it becomes impossible to upload any other file, even ColumnSorting_4.mw.

Does someone has any idea about what's going on?
TIA

For the record, LaneEmdenNumeric.mw contains nothing special that could prevent its uploading.
This file can be uploaded here  DropBox  (replace the txt extension by mw before opening it with Maple).

I clicked on the author's page link and was redirected to front page instead. Does this link work? Why does it not work for me?

How to define constants - MaplePrimes

In the following I show two functions f and g where ShowSolution(Limit(..)) works for f but not for g. Any idea why?

with(Student[Calculus1]);

f := x^2 + x:
limit(f, x = -infinity);
infinity
ShowSolution(Limit(f, x = -infinity), maxsteps = 100);
// step-by-step solution is produced

g := x^2 + 3*x:
limit(g, x = -infinity);
infinity
ShowSolution(Limit(g, x = -infinity), maxsteps = 100);
Error, (in Student:-Calculus1:-ShowSolution) unable to compute solution steps

Maple is able to change f into an equivalent expression by factoring out x^2, but does not seem to be able to do it with g.

I attach two screenshots that show this curious behaviour.

Often, in response to a question without code, the suggestion is made to upload a Maple file using the button with the green arrow .

This happens so often that I get the impression that new users don't recognize this as the best and most efficient way to get their question analyzed and answered. Or they just don't know how to do it.

So why not adding a hint to consider uploading code just before "Suggested Tags"?

Hey everyone,

I've been experiencing some issues with Mapleprimes on my laptop. Whenever I try to access the website, it takes an unusually long time to load, and sometimes it doesn't even load at all. This is quite frustrating as I need to use Mapleprimes for my research work. I've tried accessing the website on other devices, and it works fine, so I'm confident that the issue is with my laptop. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

For the attached worksheet "insert contents" worked two month ago. My computer settings have not changed since.

The same happens with an empty worksheet (document mode) created with 2022.2
