Acer Thanks, The zip command helped, and I was using matrices. I never would have guessed that the command to do this would have been called zip. (I did extensively read the LinearAlgebra and linalg help files.) This just once again shows my confusion in differentiating arrays and matrices. I also know that in the past I inquired on the difference between these two data structures, but I feel I can never get enough clarification on this matter, or enough different explanations. Again Thanks, (I thought I was catching up to your maple number ? :-))
Two of my blogs on the front page at the same time. That's a first for me. Also, I'm catching up to you acer. :-)
Would some examples be SAS, C, C++, etc ?
Does anyone know if anything was mentioned about it's ability to be learned by newcomers ? I think a major selling point on CAS's should be on ease of use / integration for newcomers, and more efficient/userfriendly help files. Thinking back on my introduction to Maple, starting with v10, it wasn't that painful. However, it seems that the bulk of the marketing is geared toward previous users. Just my opinion. respectfully,
Maybe the educators are too exhausted after continually battling the invasion of the classrooms by Fortune 500 corporations.
A major concern of mine, and possibly others is that introducing CAS's too early will not only create an over-reliance, but also have a detrimental effect on students' perspective of mathematics, aesthetics-wise. Causing some to lose sight of the beauty, wonder, etc, of the subject, as they move away from the pen and paper approaches of their predecessors too early. Basically some loss of creativity. respectfully,
Pearce would you have all high school students avoid Maple ? What about prodigies or the extremely gifted ? respectfully,
Although I'm still not past thirty years of age, I still feel like I grew up during the "good old days of mathematics education.", the eighties. I got most of my education (until undergraduate university) on a small caribbean island territory of the U.S., during a time when CAS use was sparse to non-existant, and almost everything was done by hand, or at most with a graphing calculator. I guess it's normal for every previous generation to favor the way things were done during their time, and now I'm guilty of the same. Presenting too young students with CAS's, I think would give young mathematical students, something I think most of them want, a "magical box" that gives them the "ANSWER", which is what most children of mathematics really desire / focus on. Just the humble opinion of twenty something old timer :-) respectfully,
SAS, and other related software are the leaders in statistical pattern recognition, data mining and other related fields, which is what's more important to SETI's mission ?
Tim, do you sell any of your products ? If so, I'm an amateur guitarist, and a left handed guitar personalized to myself, and or with respect to mathematics would be very appreciated. Please forgive me if I was wrong with my assumption. v/r,
Thank you both, For the approximation to the posted question, and for the explanation of my troubles. I would not have expected the combinat package to not be the most efficient choice. Being new to Maple, I always assume that the manufacturer's packages would be the most efficient choice of solutions. v/r,

Thanks, So the relative velocity, v, equaling c, causes division by zero, which I guess is a physically meaningless expression. I was also talking about the speed of light in vacuum. Sorry.
Thanks, I thought that it might have done like those audio file sharing applications, e.g., napster, etc.... v/r,
Thanks, Do you just personally prefer the D operator ? I also noticed you didn't have any type constraints on the procedure arguments. Did you find doin that unnecessary ? thanks again v/r, Also a nifty idea using the mapping inside of the procedure to simplify things.
