Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking about ways to bring barcode-based data into Maple workflows, and I’m curious if anyone here has explored something similar.

The idea is pretty simple: scan barcodes (from images, PDFs, or even a camera), extract the data, and then use that directly inside Maple for analysis or building datasets. It feels like it could be useful in cases where data comes from physical sources—like labels, documents, or sample tracking.

My initial approach was to handle the decoding outside Maple using something like Python or C++. I came across SDKs like Dynamsoft for the scanning part, and then pass the extracted data into Maple. But I’m wondering if there’s a cleaner or more integrated way to do this.

Has anyone tried connecting external data capture like this with Maple? What’s the most efficient way to move that data in? And more generally, would something like native barcode or image-based input be useful in your workflows?

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences.

Thanks!
